Ilze's Chocolat is at heart an artisan chocolate and macaroon business.

What does it mean to be an artisan business?

Firstly, that all the chocolate and macaroon products are produced by a small team of passionate artisans that are totally dedicated to and focused on quality. 

Secondly, that we use only the purest and freshest ingredients and do not compromise on quality by adding unnatural stabilisers or preservatives.

Thirdly, every chocolate or macaroon is for us a beautiful piece of art and we would sometimes spend ridiculous amounts of time just getting the look right.

Finally, we make our products for our friends.

No, it does not mean that we only make a few chocolates and macaroons that we hand out to our closest friends; it means that we want our customers to become our friends.

That is particularly true for those who visit us in our shop, but the idea actually extends also to many of our online customers.

That is why are values are passion, beauty and friendship.

In our shop, we offer also artisan coffee and various other drinks, including a hot chocolate to fight and die for! And if there is coffee and tea, there must also be croissants and other sweet treats. Oh, and some special savoury things if you happen to pass by at lunchtime...
