When we started out we had a simple plan - to open the best steak restaurant in London. We travelled the world, from steakhouse to steakhouse, searching for the perfect steak, but discovered that beef from carefully reared cattle right here in Britain and cooked simply over real charcoal, packed more flavour than anything we tried on our travels.

We opened our first restaurant in Spitalfields in 2006, and after four years of trying to get that one as good as possible we then opened in Seven Dials, Guildhall, Air Street, Knightsbridge and Borough as well our first restaurants outside of London, in other cities that we love – Manchester and Edinburgh.

We are really excited that we’ll be opening a Hawksmoor in New York in the summer of 2021. If you have the right to work in the U.S.  we'd love to hear from you. And later this year we will open our seventh London restaurant - our biggest and most ambitious space yet - in the docks of Wood Wharf, a new part of Canary Wharf.

Childhood friends, Will and Huw, opened their first Hawksmoor in East London in 2006. They wanted to buy great quality ingredients and cook them as simply as possible. They also wanted to stay well clear of the rat race, have fun and hang out with nice people who are great at what they do.
