Farncombe Estate

Fancy joining our award-winning team?

Every member of our team is part of the Farncombe family, whether they work at Dormy House, Foxhill Manor or The Fish Hotel.

That sense of belonging is what keeps our atmosphere welcoming and our guests coming back again and again.

Farncombe Estate has been privately owned by the same family for over 40 years. Originally a residential training school and headquarters for a global security company, the estate has recently been transformed by a multi-million-pound investment. We now represent something unique in UK hospitality – a wholly integrated countryside estate led by three multi-award winning boutique hotels: Dormy House Hotel & Spa, Foxhill Manor, and The Fish Hotel.

What can we give you in return?

We offer competitive pay and generous benefits and rewards. Our business is structured to offer excellent opportunities for career progression and we’re proud that many members of our team have grown with the estate over many years.

Culinary Legends

We have opportunities for chefs of all levels to join our innovative and ambitious kitchen teams in our three independent hotels. Each hotel has its own individuality which is influenced and developed by our Culinary Director, Martin Burge.

Kathryn Bash and Mathieu Blanchard head up the team at Dormy House, which provides exceptional food in three restaurants: the gastropub-style Potting Shed, The Back Garden – a celebration of the finest ingredients from the land on our doorstep, and Mo, a personal and intimate tasting-menu experience whereby our chefs unleash their cutting-edge culinary skills to just 12 guests at a time.

Richard Thorpe is in charge at Foxhill Manor, an eight-bedroom private house hotel offering the highest standards of dining, built on a ‘what you want, when you want it’ philosophy.

David Hall is at the helm of The Fish Hotel, home to Hook, which has been awarded two Rosettes, and is at long last able to live up to its name, offering a menu of the finest, freshest responsibly sourced fish, sustainable shellfish and a few timeless classics from the Field? Rather than land?

To join the chef team on the Estate, you will ideally have experience working within at a 2 Rosette kitchen, however nothing beats the right attitude and a willingness to learn.

Agents of service

An essential part of the guest dining experience providing an unforgettable experience to all of our guests, be that when they pop in for a drink in one of our bars or if they are enjoying our tasting menu at the award-winning Dormy House Hotel.

Our F&B roles can offer wide variety of environments to work in. We have our 4 amazing restaurants on the Estate, as well as an outdoor feasting deck, weddings at Foxhill Manor and you could even get to work in our very own cinema!!

We can offer roles from entry level where experience isn’t needed, just the right attitude through to supervisory & management roles

Agents of perfection

Do you enjoy cleaning? Do you enjoy combining work with keeping active? Do you have high standards when it comes to cleanliness? If so, we would love to hear from you!

Our Housekeeping teams across the Estate have one main thing in common…. An unbelievable attention to detail. Our motto is most certainly quality not quantity as we want to ensure that when a guest arrives in their room everything is perfect.

Our Room Attendants meticulously service our rooms on a daily basis to ensure that our standards are met. As no room on the Estate is the same as another, this is a role that will continuously keep you on your toes.

As an addition to our Room Attendants, we have a Turndown Team who get the guest rooms ready for them in the evening, ensuring that our guests can get the best nights sleep.

The whole team is then supported by our Linen Porters who are there to make sure that all of our Linen (we get through quite a bit) is clean, ironed and ready for our amazing rooms.

Directors of first impressions

Our Front of House Teams are an integral part of a guests experience on the Estate. The role of the Reception Host is to welcome our guests as soon as they arrive and to ensure their stay at our hotel is above their expectations. Our warm and friendly interaction with our guests will ensure that we are able to anticipate their needs and give them the very best individual attention. This role operates at the heart of a busy operation, in which you’ll handle lots of different requests from both colleagues and guests, providing you with the opportunity to learn a lot.

Our Reception Hosts are supported by the Porter team who ensure that all of our Guests in-room needs are met, be that taking their luggage upon their arrival or even delivering a bottle of their favourite champagne on ice.

Ideally you will have proven experience in a similar role, and you’ll be confident using IT systems, but these are things that we can teach. As long as you have a passion and desire to deliver world class guest service, we can teach the rest.

Serenity Co-ordinators

Since the House Spa at the Dormy House Hotel opened its doors it has been winning awards ever since! This is an incredibly successful and popular Spa, and we look for exceptional people to join our team. Our Serenity Co-ordinators take on many guises, including:

Reception Host – who meet, greet and ensure our guests needs are met.

Spa Attendants – supporting the whole spa team – who ensure that our spa is looking it’s best as well as being safe for our guests to enjoy the facilities at all times.

Therapist – you will be qualified to a minimum of NVQ 3 in Beauty Therapy or equivalent and will ideally have experience of carrying out a range of treatments to an extremely high standard.

What experience do you need to be part of the Reception or Attendant team? ………We don’t require any!!

All we ask is that you come to work with a bucket load of enthusiasm, a can-do attitude and the desire to deliver an amazing guest experience, we can train additional skills that you will need.

If you reckon you’ve got what it takes to make Farncombe and its hotels an even better place to stay, eat and relax, we’d love to hear from you.

If this sounds like your ideal next move, and you would like to discuss this role or any other potential opportunities on our 400 acre estate, then please apply now.
