Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Chef/Kitchen Manager to join our team at a friendly pub located in South Cambridgeshire. Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a unique menu that showcases your culinary expertise and complements the pub's atmosphere.
- Manage kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring high quality and consistent dishes.
- Take charge of inventory management, cost control, and maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Lead and inspire the kitchen staff, providing training and fostering a positive work environment.
- Collaborate with the pub management team to create seasonal menus, daily specials, and promotions.
- Build relationships with local suppliers to source fresh ingredients and support sustainability efforts.
- Stay up-to-date with culinary trends and incorporate them into the menu to enhance the dining experience.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and accommodating special requests.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Chef/Kitchen Manager, preferably in a similar pub or restaurant setting.
- Strong culinary skills and attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
- Ability to create flavourful dishes that cater to various dietary preferences.
- Effective leadership and communication skills to manage a team and collaborate with management.
- Knowledge of kitchen operations, inventory management, cost control, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for food and a desire to innovate and explore new culinary concepts.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
