About the role :

The Fiddichside Inn is a charming and historic pub located in the heart of Craigellachie, known for its warm atmosphere, excellent selection of whiskies, and friendly service. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Inn Manager to join our team and help maintain the high standards our patrons have come to expect. 

The Inn Manager will be responsible for the day to day running of the Inn and bar, as well as looking for ways to make it even better including - but not limited to :  carrying out bar shifts, supervision of premises and staff, stock ordering, and driving the premises forward to increase custom.

The ideal candidate will be someone who thinks ahead, observes the condition of the Inn and ensures the establishment works as smoothly as possible. Not only this, but someone who loves the thrill of giving great service to your guests and who loves the joy of making people happy with great hospitality!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management: Oversee daily operations of the bar, ensuring smooth service and exceptional customer experiences.
  • Staff Supervision: Recruit, train, and manage bar staff, scheduling shifts, and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Inventory Control: Manage stock levels and maintain inventory records
  • Customer Service: Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally and efficiently.
  • Financial Duties: Monitor budgets, control costs, and ensure profitability. Handle cash transactions and reconcile daily sales.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe environment for both staff and customers.
  • Promotions & Events: Plan and execute promotions, events, and special offers to attract new customers and retain regulars.
  • Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new ideas to keep the bar offerings fresh and appealing. Experiment with new drinks, promotions, and events to keep guests excited about returning.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the rest of the Inn's team to ensure cohesive operations. Communicate effectively with team members to provide a seamless experience for guests. Schedule team meetings and contribute ideas for improvement.
  • Technology & Systems: Utilise computer systems for inventory management, staff scheduling, and various booking flatforms.
  • Social media : Enhance our social media presence and create regular posts over the various platforms.
  • Assist with the smooth running of the Cottage attached to the Inn: This includes, but not limited to : working closely with the Owners' PA to be up to date with bookings,having an excellent understanding of the booking process and all the various websites that the cottage is listed on and being able to navigate all of these.

    Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Organisation: Highly organized with strong multitasking abilities.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in using computer systems for inventory management, scheduling, and financial reporting.
  • Passion: A genuine passion for the hospitality industry and a keen interest in whisky and local culture.
