Main responsibilities

Defence Medical Services Whittington is a Tri-Service Military Training establishment near Lichfield, Staffordshire WS14 9PY. The base is fully operational, feeding and accommodating up to 600 Service personnel. The primary role of DMS is to train all 3 services (Army/Navy & RAF) and to promote, protect and restore the health of service personnel to ensure that they are ready and medically fit to go where they are required in the UK and throughout the world; generally referred to as being ‘fit for task'.
