Catering and Conferencing Chef Supervisor

We are now looking for a Catering and Conferencing Chef Supervisor to join our Carmarthen campus on a full time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week.

THE ROLE

You will directly report to the Head Chef and oversee catering assistants.
You will plan and organise food and service delivery, to ensure that the department’s day-to-day standards are maintained and enhanced.

You will be required to support their line manager in forward planning of the delivery of service.

You will support the menu planning process and be fully aware of catering industry trends and best practice. The post holder will order day-to-day stock and minimise food wastage.

ABOUT YOU

To be considered as a Catering and Conferencing Chef Supervisor , you will need:
- Good level of general education

- Food Hygiene Level 2.

- NVQ 1, 2 and 3 or similar in a related discipline.

- Experience of working in busy catering environment, supervising staff, dealing with demanding customers and handling customer complaints.

- Experience of planning and controlling day-to-day delivery of service.
- Ability to maintain tight deadlines.

- Experience in setting and maintaining high food standards and delivery. Applying attention to detail in the food offer and service delivery.

- Experience in daily financial requirements and systems

- Effective organisational skills and multi-tasking.

- Work effectively as an individual including being unsupervised, as part of a team and in partnership with others.

- Demonstrates appropriate confidentiality.

- Positive approach to personal learning and development.

- Work flexibly in terms of duties, shift patterns, campus locations and to respond to business needs at short notice.

- Experience in maintaining risk assessments.

It would be beneficial if you had:
- Food Hygiene level 3
- Good I.T. skills.
- Knowledge of EPOS till systems
- Ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh (oral and written).
