An exciting opportunity to join the friendly team at the newly opened Iford Manor Café & Kitchen, on the beautiful Iford Manor Estate, just outside of Bath. As a daytime and seasonal operation, hours are typically 50 hours pw April – September; 30 hours pw October – March, with few evenings required.

We are searching for a reliable, innovative, assistant restaurant & café manager to supervise operations at our bustling premises.

Working closely with both our Head Chef and Managing Partner, the right applicant will be knowledgeable and passionate about food and drink. All food served at Iford is made from scratch on the premises and sourced from the best quality, local suppliers. Customers to both our restaurant and café should leave feeling refreshed and well fed after an exceptional experience in a beautiful setting.

This role will cover both the restaurant and the café at Iford, which are in the same building and served by the same kitchen. The right person will have the confidence and ability to lead a small team and be good with people, both colleagues and customers. Leading by example, you will set the standards for the team both by your presentation and approach to work.

The Assistant Manager will take responsibility for managing rotas, and will have awareness of the importance of managing hours and ensuring payroll budgets are met. You will also be responsible for opening and closing each day, as well as ensuring that the health & safety requirements are met by the front of house team as set by our Head Chef.

A strong passion for wines and beverage is preferred; you will be responsible for ordering wines and drinks, monthly stocktakes and updating wine lists.

This person will hold Level 2 Health & Hygiene and have at least 3 years service in a similar role.

Details of Iford Manor Kitchen café & restaurant:

• April – September hours:
• Open Wednesday – Sunday & Bank Holidays
• Café open 10:00 – 16:30
• Restaurant serves lunch 11:45 – 14:30 and afternoon tea from 14:45 – 16:00
• Fortnightly supper clubs on alternate Friday evenings in the restaurant
• Closed 2 weeks of the year in October to facilitate holidays at the end of the busy season (please note this is flexible)

• October – March hours
• Open Friday – Sunday
• Café open 10:00 – 15:00
• Lunch service only in restaurant
• Friday night supper clubs
• Private hire on Saturday evenings
• Closed between Christmas and New Year

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Between £24 and 30k pa depending on experience
