The InterContinental Tashkent is expected to open in Q4 2022 and is anticipated as the most iconic hotel in the Uzbek Capital. Located in the heart of the nation’s capital, alongside Amir Temur Square, the InterContinental Tashkent will be part of the Trilliant mixed use development, where people can work, enjoy leisure, and enjoy luxury accommodation.

The hotel’s 216 well-appointed large guestrooms include 40 elegant suites & an exclusive executive lounge. Dining options consist of a rooftop specialty restaurant and outdoor bar, all day dining with large terrace, Lobby lounge with pastry vitrine and pool bar. There is over 2’500 sqm of Conference and Banquet space for hosting events ranging from intimate meetings to luxurious weddings.

The largest hotel wellness club of the city will boast an impressive 2’500 sqm of space which includes a 150 sqm pool; Jacuzzi, sauna and hammam; private spa with numerous treatment rooms; gym facilities (yoga / CrossFit / Spinning Studio) across 2 floors and access to an outdoor space.

The InterContinental Tashkent will combine luxury, contemporary comfort, the latest technology, and sustainability with the expected first LEED Gold certified project in Uzbekistan.

Your day to day

As Wellness Director, you will deliver an exceptional experience for guests and develop staff to reach their full potential. You will be responsible for the performance of the spa and wellness club, the coordination of all wellness programs and the facilitation of the required cross functional training, e.g., Human Resources. You will ensure that each wellness offering be it for staff or guest reaches its full potential.

In this role, you will assume full responsibility for the efficient and effective implementation of Wellness throughout the hotel, working side by side with HOD’s, especially on the offerings in the Spa and Fitness facilities to provide exceptional product and service within the brand operating standards.

By keeping abreast of industry trends and practices and updating knowledge and skills to improve the product and service offering, you will continually focus on the rejuvenation of the health and wellness experience. Wellness offerings, Spa treatments, exercise classes and fitness facilities and equipment will be constantly assessed to remain relevant and in keeping with wellness industry best practices. In addition, you will arrange and conduct workshops and lectures for both staff and guests on relevant health and wellness topics.

Your constant interaction with and provision of support to and communication with other departments is intrinsic to the smooth functioning of the operation. You will perform any additional duties given to you by the General Manager.

What we need from you

  • Relevant qualification ideally in Wellness/Hotel Management
  • Relevant technical skills
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar or greater role in luxury wellness, spas, and fitness facilities with proven results
  • Fluency in English and Russian, Uzbek is an advantage

You are a personally involved, visible and proactive leader with excellent organizational skills, capable of providing focused direction and continuing to establish the property’s prominent position in Wellness within the market. You possess a well-developed capability for strategic decision-making and a track record of proven results in the areas of guest satisfaction, operational excellence, staff satisfaction, revenue and profit.

In terms of Wellness, Spa and Fitness facilities, you have an intuitive sense of product and service quality, a passion for excellence and an understanding of the sophisticated needs of the luxury guest. Your technical expertise includes a sound knowledge of healing therapies, spa treatments, beauty products, wellness traditions and fitness.

You have a solid understanding of the latest trends and techniques in the health and wellness market, plus the ability to promote and sell products and treatments.

You possess exceptional guest relationship skills, particularly in communicating with the high-end luxury traveller.

You are a responsive, engaged and interactive leader, capable of building strong positive relationships with staff that results in a shared vision of success for the operation, demonstrated ability to leverage shared resources and to manage through influence.
