Salary up to £43,000 + Live In + Bonuses

The George is a gorgeous pub in the heart of Poplar, Isle of Dogs, with its stamp of approval from residents and Canary Wharf office workers as the place to be for weekday lunches, refreshing after work/ social drinks as well as the perfect little hideaway with its sunny garden.

With bags of charm and period features, the pub boasts of a semi-split operation with Public Bar, Saloon Bar, Conservatory, sun-soaked beer garden with BBQ area and outside bar as well as a private dining room that can accommodate up to 20 people. The pub is very much a local’s pub of choice and has a very loyal guest base.

We’re looking for a General Manager who wants to run the best pub in the neighbourhood! You will have a passion for delivering a phenomenal guest experience, an eye for detail and a natural ability to execute those personal touches coupled with bucket loads of hospitality.

As the General Manager of The George, you must have a good understanding of operating a fresh food business as well as the skills and experience of running a quality local neighbourhood pub. You will look for ways to emersed yourself and the business within the local community and ensure that the pub runs weekly activity such as quiz nights, appropriate entertainment and charity events.

The George is a great business with a great team, the team want to work with a General Manager that will continue to develop, recognise, and reward their efforts whilst ensuring the onward success of the business so they can celebrate as a team!

As a General Manager, you will need to be able to demonstrate great leadership skills and the ability to build a high performing team in order to control, develop and improve all aspects of the business including: P&L, people, standards, legal compliance, service and brand integrity.

We require all our General Managers to hold a Personal License
