Hub is a well established feature on the St Ives harbour front and an essential stop off for great coffee, fabulous cakes and amazing food. In the evening they are the ideal place for fantastic burgers, sipping cocktails or sampling one of their local and international craft beers.
Hub has an exciting opportunity for an apprentice chef to join their busy kitchen team, learn the trade alongside working to gain a Level 2 Production Chef Qualification.
Duties to include:
Maintaining high standards of hygiene.
Preparing the ingredients for as directed by your Sous chef or Head chef.
Measuring dish ingredients and portion sizes accurately and always using spec cards.
Dealing with deliveries and stock rotation.
Ensuring you have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.
Support all team members in ensuring a smooth and effective service.
Communicate positively and clearly with your team.

Skills Required
Previous experience is always an advantage but not essential.
A desire to work in a busy, creative, dynamic kitchen is important.

Qualifications Required
Grades C/4 or above in maths and English is an advantage but not essential. Maths and English will be assessed as part of the interview process.

Expected Duration
12 Months
Working Week
40 hours per week. 5 days per week to include weekends and evenings.
