Chef

We are looking for a hard-working, trustworthy and enthusiastic Chef to assist with catering for events at McGovern Park. 

You will be a dedicated, resilient, diligent multi-tasker that is highly organised and calm under pressure. Able to follow instructions and passionate about food with the ability to serve customers courteously, efficiently and in a professional manner if required.

You will strive to achieve the highest level of cleanliness all times and ensure that food preparation is in line with food safety regulations. Attention to detail and an ability to think on your feet are key. Working closely with the bar staff team, you will foster a ‘one team’ ethos so we can provide seamless service for events.

Primarily you will assist the Head chef prepare food and keep the kitchen clean. There may be times where you will be trusted to carry out food preparation / cook / take in orders / clean the kitchen / do food safety logs when the Head Chef is off duty.

McGovern Park is home to the London Gaelic Athletic Association and Gaelic football and hurling are played here during the season regularly attracting crowds of over 800 people. The spacious function rooms (known as ‘The Emerald Rooms’) can host up to 500 people for weddings, wakes, birthday parties etc and our diary is looking pretty full into 2022.

Essential: A passion for cooking, team player, a positive ‘can do’ attitude.

Desirable qualities: food safety certificate, event catering experience, first aid certificate, fire safety certificate, love of the Irish.
