Brewer Apprentice

As part of the role you will also be working with other functions such as Quality, Engineering, Sales and Marketing. The role will help support the development of our modern beer range which will have significant investment and focus over the coming years. You will have hands on experience of creating and trialling new recipes which will be launched to pubs and supermarkets across the UK and exported around the world.

This role is a 2 year fixed term contract role with the potential to lead to permanent employment. During the contract, as well as gaining real-life experience in the workplace, training will be provided via Nottingham City University, leading to a Level 4 qualification. Training will be delivered on a day release basis where you will have opportunity to network with other Apprentice Brewers from other organisations.

-Conform to all Health & Safety requirements, and take an active role in positive health and safety behaviours in the Brewery.

-Ensure that agreed production plan is achieved.

-Assist with changes that affect plant efficiency

-Control performance of Quality in line with Greene King Quality policies.

-Proactively manage product quality and lead root cause focus problem solving.

-Ensure you work in a manner that complies with all legal production requirements for the business.

-Work to agreed/published standard operating procedures.

-Manage the intake, storage and stock control/rotation of all Raw Materials that arrive on site.

-Dry goods preparation and measuring out of all manual materials as directed.

-Plant preparation, automatic/manual cleaning and checking of all plant to ensure that it is clean and fit for purpose prior to use.

-Monitoring and recording of all processes and liquid movements for correct operation.

-Ensuring that all areas are maintained in a clean, tidy manner and to food factory standards of Housekeeping & Hygiene.

-Ensure sampling schedule is met for analysis and Quality Control.

-Support the new recipe creation, trial brewing and commercialisation of new beers for our portfolio.

-Assist cross functional project teams with technical improvement projects when not brewing.
