Level 2 Production Chef Apprenticeship in Ashbourne - Go Beyond Charity

Our breaks currently run two weeks out of three with approximately four extra weeks a year when we catch up on essential maintenance and training. You will be employed for 16 hours a week on average with the majority of these being on our break weeks. The centre cook is responsible for planning and preparing home-style meals for up to 25 people (plus occasional extras). We like to make as much of our food from scratch and we always ensure that the young people staying with us are getting a healthy and nutritious meal. On Mondays-Thursdays, you will be needed to cook a two-course (main and desert) with hours approx. 2pm-6pm and on Friday mornings we like to send the group off on a full English breakfast so you will be needed 7.30am-10.00am. The meals that you cook will be varied and also adaptable to suit any dietary requirements that we have (this will be communicated in advance). As our days are full of energy we would love our groups to have a home cooked snack as well to eat in the afternoons – flapjacks etc.

There may also be times where you can use you skills with the group to run baking sessions or similar.

Alongside the main duty of cooking, you will be expected to keep the kitchen and dining room clean, follow our safer food, better business model, take monthly takes and order food keeping with our set budgets.

The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS before employment commences.

You will be working in beautiful part of the world just on the southern edge of the Peak District and our centre is set within 62 acres of farmland. There is plenty of free parking on site.
