An opportunity has arisen for a entrepreneurial General Manager to join The Monks Retreat, Reading - A Traditional proper pub in the heart of Reading town centre. Situated a stone’s throw from the mainline train station a stone’s throw from the main shopping area and has plenty of hotels on its doorstep! There is so much scope and potential with this site that it’s just waiting for the right candidate to come along and take full advantage of all the amenities in the area. The Monk’s retreat is a beautiful pub that caters to a variety of clientele it’s Famous for sport, food, and cask ale.

The Monk’s retreat is a ground floor operation with 2 bars, Sky sports and an external seated area situated at the front. This site really is your traditional proper pub, with a large range of cask ales, plenty of lager choice on tap and all your pub favourites to choose from off the food menu. The Monks retreat transitions well from breakfast through to lunch, lunch through to early evening and then from early evening into late on the weekends. The site has some great reasons to visit such as Quiz night, karaoke, sport, and monthly themed party nights.

The successful applicant will be passionate about the Pub, someone who goes the extra mile for the guest with their key focuses on driving both food sales and sport, must have good communication skills and be able to lead and motivate the team to success.
