Detailed Job Description
Splendid Hotel require an enthusiastic, energetic person who is obsessed with food to join their existing brigade as an Apprentice Commis Chef at The Grand, Yorks only 5* property. Along with excellent on-the-job training you will also be enrolled on a twelve month L2 Apprenticeship Course where your training will be transferred into an industry recognised qualification. Key Responsibilities:
To manage high standards of customer care.
Implement both absolute and department food standards.
Ensure correct mis-en-place is ready for service and following day.
Assist other sections where possible during preparation and/or service.
Ensure all aspects of food hygiene and assured safe catering are adhered to.
Person Specification
1. Knowledge, skills and abilities. Right to work in the UK. Strong customer awareness and focus. Able to work flexibly to suit the hours (various shift patterns) and needs of the kitchen. Good interpersonal and communication skills to effectively deal with team and customers. Ability to work and interact well as part of the team. Sound organisational skills with the ability to identify and juggle priorities.
2. Proven experience/education level. Previous kitchen experience is not essential but a passion for food is!
