We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy General Manager to join our highly successful team at Firmdale Hotels. Based at our Covent Garden hotel, you will help oversee the entire operation across the breadth of the business, encompassing Events, Food and Beverage, Front Office, Housekeeping and the Kitchen, ensuring that the needs of our guests are met.


Working as part of the senior management team, you will be need to be ambitious and flexible to adapt to a variety of scenario’s and situations. You will be heavily involved in people management, recruitment, training and employee relations ensuring the team are reaching their full potential and delivering a high standard of customer service.


Essential Key Skills:

  • Previous experience in a high end operation as a Hotel Manager or Deputy General Manager
  • A hands on approach and ability to assist with the daily operations
  • The ability to work well under pressure and in a busy environment
  • Excellent customer service skills and communication
  • Genuine passion for the hospitality industry and desire to drive hotel’s success forward
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • A high level of understanding of the current hospitality trends and who our competitors are



  • Oversee the daily operations of the hotel
  • Manage profit and loss, revenue management and cost control
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with guests
  • Maintain staff welfare and uphold solid team relationships
  • Comply with statutory and legal requirements for fire, hygiene, health and safety, licencing and employment law ensuring all managers are aware of the legislation and expectations
  • Work closely with the General Manager to ensure smooth delivery of service and guest satisfaction
  • Attend important meetings such as General Managers, Operations and Head of Departments meetings in the General Managers absence
  • Assisting with the recruitment needs and interview process for positions within the hotel
