Detailed Job Description

An exciting new venture in North Devon, The Farmers Arms, is looking for a Trainee Food and Beverage assistant to join their team. Their goal is to engage their guests in a warm and inviting experience through their friendly and professional service. They have a beautifully renovated pub, with an amazing staff, and they need to add more confident team members. They are currently looking to train someone in all aspects of the front of house operations. This will include both drink and food service and all of the elements that create a first class dining experience. Alongside this, the successful applicant will work towards gaining a Level 2 Hospitality Team Member Qualification.
Their food ethos is local, foraged, fresh and sustainable. Everything is made in house or supplied by quality vendors who help to support the community. Their own farm to supply fresh produce and meat is in the works as well. With a major investment and renovations on going, there will be considerable opportunity for growth and the chance to work with an incredible and driven team.
There is also the opportunity to cross train and promote to other positions in the Woolsery project.
Job Duties include:
• Greeting customers at the table
• Taking orders
• Serving food and drink at the table
• Tidying tables
• Cash handling
• Booking tables
• Working as part of the team
• Adhering to all Health & Safety guidelines
• Providing all customers with great customer service
• Liaising with the kitchen
• Learning how to use the coffee machine
• Bar work
Requirements:
Excellent customer service and communication with guests
Work well in a team environment, with a good attitude and a willingness to learn
Ability to work full time, sometimes flexible, hours

Skills Required

Exceptional communication skills, well presented, able to work as part of a team, willing to learn

Personal Qualities

Cross over from back to front of house, with the ability to interface with guests and introduce dishes
Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and following Health & Safety procedures.
Work well in a team environment, with a good attitude and a willingness to learn
Cross training to all stations

Qualifications Required

GCSE grades C (or equivalent) or above is an advantage but not essential. Maths and English will be assessed as part of the interview process.

Future Prospects

Continuation of employment and possible progression to Level 3 Hospitality Supervisor

The Farmers Arms is a fairly remote location and you will need transport
