Your day to day

We have an exciting and active requirement for Procurement Specialist to join our Global Procurement Team, supporting the UK&I region, on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. You will have built up knowledge and experience from delivering real commercial value throughout your career already and will be able to implement in your role. You will be tasked with delivering real benefit to IHG through optimising our supplier relationships and commercial deals for the defined Business Cluster.

Ideally you will come from a hotel/hospitality background and will have experience across several categories. If you are a confident and strategic thinker as well as being a “do-er” and enjoy rolling your sleeves up then this role will suit you.

This is a busy and dynamic core role within the team. You will be working within a close-knit, professional yet engaging group of colleagues

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide day to day category implementation support to Procurement Manager of Hotel Cluster
  • Provide Procurement commercial and category operational support to all cluster stakeholders
  • Build an understanding of relevant supply markets and the implications for IHG within the cluster
  • Successful execution of category, sourcing, demand management and continuous improvement projects to deliver business objectives and cost benefits to hotels and owners
  • Manage ongoing rationalization and consolidation of suppliers and products to deliver benefits and best in class centralized preferred supplier list
  • Management of supplier compliance
  • Prioritise workload to ensure delivery of projects within agreed SLA’s
  • Provide commercial challenge to Hotel stakeholders 
  • Support to Develop and deliver successful supplier relationship management plans within the cluster
  • Operating within the PaCE operating model
  • Ensure all reporting tools are updated in line with specified timelines 
  • Develop excellent stakeholder relationship with the focus on communicating effectively throughout the business

What we're looking for

  • Experience in a procurement and supply chain role
  • Experience managing and running sourcing projects
  • Experience negotiating contracts for commercial deals
  • Good analytical skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of Procurement processes
  • Demonstrated influencing and negotiation skills
  • Good sense of prioritisation, organisational skills and time management
  • Good Microsoft office skills
  • Good communication skills

Whilst this role will initially be based in our Denham head office location, by Summer of 2022 we will be relocating to our new Global Headquarters in central Windsor so you will need to be able to travel to Windsor as required in the longer term.
