Detailed Job Description

Colwall Park Hotel is an independently owned country house hotel, located in the centre of a peaceful rural village on the sunny western flanks of the breathtaking Malvern Hills.
Colwell Park Hotel has an opportunity for a fantastic first step into the industry as a Chef, developing and learning from an experienced team at Colwell Park Hotel. Learn the trade alongside working to gain a Level 2 Commis Chef Qualification.
Main responsibilities:
To produce food/desserts to a rosette level
To adhere to high levels of food safety and health and safety policies and procedures
To adhere to company policies including waste and portion control
Support the Head Chef in creating new menus
Duties include:
Supporting the Head Chef, ensuring high levels of food preparation and presentation.
You will be trained in and be responsible for Food Safety
You will be trained in and be responsible for Health & Safety
You will learn how to manager Food costs
You will be trained in how to prepare and cook current and changing menu items
Assisting with Stock ordering
Assisting with Stock Rotation
Ensure the kitchen is thoroughly clean and the cleaning schedule is adhered to daily and weekly tasks allocated

Skills Required

Good communication skills.

Personal Qualities

You must be flexible and committed with an ability to work as a strong team player.

Qualifications Required

None required, however, Maths and English will be assessed as part of the interview process.

Future Prospects

You will be working towards a full time position should one be available at the end of your Apprenticeship.
