Detailed Job Description

The Pack Saddle is an independent family run country gastro pub with a very high standard of cuisine.
They are looking for an experienced, dynamic & passionate chef who has a big love for food and is keen to work with a venue that has very high long term aspirations.
Whilst working with us you would be working towards gaining your level 3 Senior Production Chef qualification.
Your responsibilities would be:
Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities
Construct menus suited to the venue, to a high standard and with fresh ideas
Keeping all paperwork in order within HSE regulations and maintaining hygiene standards
Managing a team of chefs and responsible for their training
Organising a rota within a required budget
Responsible for dealing with suppliers and negotiating prices
To assist the owners in achieving long term goals

Skills Required

Menu planning
Ability to negotiate with suppliers, staff training, good knowledge of all HSE requirements and people management
Ability to work with budgets & hit GP targets
High level of communication
Problem solving.

Qualifications Required

The employer will decided what qualifications they require, however, Maths and English will be assessed as part of the interview process.

Future Prospects

The aspirations to gain Rosettes and accolades and the Head Chef would be integral to achieving these goals.

Senior Chef Production Cooking apprenticeship Level 3
Maths and English if required

Expected Duration

12-18 Months

Working Week

48 hour week with 2 days off
