Detailed Job Description

The Farmhouse at Mackworth serve up delicious food straight from the kitchen and crafted drinks poured at the bar every day of the week, as well as 10 beautiful bedrooms, all located in the stunning 18th century farmhouse.
They have an excellent opportunity for an apprentice chef to join their busy kitchen team.
Under the full support of the Head Chef, you will help to drive the performance of the kitchen. You will be responsible for ensuring that quality, service, standards and legal compliance are met and exceeded and consistently deliver high quality food. Alongside this, the successful applicant will work towards gaining a Level 2 Commis Chef Qualification.
Principal Responsibilities
1) People
The ability to use your skills to deliver exceptional food quality in line with brand and dish specification.
Excellent communication skills to be able to maintain high standards whilst working on a fast pace, high volume line.
Possess unrivaled team working skills to help the team run successful services consistently.
Continually ask questions and show a desire to grow and develop to be the best version of themselves.
2) Service and Standards
Prepare and cook all menu items focusing on food delivery, speed of service and quality, in line with brand requirements to ensure a consistent and excellent dining experience for the customer.
Carry out all food preparation necessary in line with the Head Chef’s expectations.
Assist in maintaining great EHO & Charnwoods scores, Audits and Health & Safety within the kitchen.
Ability to monitor stock levels and wastage, reporting issues to the Head Chef.
To ensure that all equipment is maintained in a safe, clean and efficient working condition in accordance with Company instructions and report all defects, accidents damage.
Understands the importance of customer feedback from all available sources, both internal and external, to identify key focuses and shape action planning.
3) Legal and Compliance
Ensures that all equipment is maintained in a safe, hygienic and efficient working condition in accordance with Company and manufacturer instructions. Reports all defects, accidents and damage that occur on site as appropriate.
Completes all e-learning in a timely fashion and in line with the General Manager’s expectations.
Ensures that the pub is operated within the terms of the Premises license, and any conditions within, and that the four licensing objectives are upheld at all times.

Qualifications Required

None required, however, Maths and English will be assessed as part of the interview process..

Future Prospects

Full Time vacancy working as a Line Chef with Revere Pub Company and development plan to progress to Sous Chef.
