Lead Developer

Stonegate Group are looking for a Lead Developer to join the Development team and lead and mentor a small team of remote Developers. Reporting to the Development Manager, the Lead Developer will work as part of a team within an Agile environment responsible for building and supporting business systems that support key business processes.

This is a remote role. Our Support Offices are in Solihull and our sites are nationwide.

Key Responsibilities for the Lead Developer


  • Lead?a?team?of?developers?to?distribute?coding?work,?provide?design?and?review?output?
  • Contribution?to?preparing?and?reviewing?technical?architectural,?designs?documentation?
  • Analyses?technical?aspects?of?development?projects.?
  • Ability to discuss technical coding patterns and issues with other developers to find the optimal solution with an agreed technical framework
  • Work with developers and third-party technical consultants to design & implement appropriate technical solutions

As Lead Developer you’ll need to be able to demonstrate your ability to consistently deliver technology projects on time and to budget.

You’ll be great at building as well as:?

  • Reviewing and keeping up to speed with latest technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
  • Writing well?designed,?testable?and?efficient?code?
  • Designing low-level?technical?solutions?
  • Applying design & system architecture skills to ensure continual increase in performance and stability of the core systems
  • Producing?documented?&?tested?software?for?delivery?to?production?
  • Taking part in?design?&?code?reviews?
  • Through the undertaking of DBA activities ensuring that solutions are optimised and stable
  • Follow?Agile?development?practices?
  • Work?with?end-users,?when?required,?to?understand?requests?or?discuss?alternatives.?
  • Resolves?system?issues?and?responds?to?suggestions?for?improvements.?
  • Work?management?systems?(e.g.?Jira,?Confluence)?

Experience wise, you’ll need:

  • Proven experience as a .NET Developer (minimum 2 years)
  • Familiarity with the ASP.NET framework, SQL Server and design/architectural patterns (e.g. Model-View-Controller (MVC))
  • Knowledge of at least one of the .NET languages (e.g. C#, Visual Basic .NET) and HTML5/CSS3 and Java script
  • Familiarity with low code design tools i.e. Outsystems, Talend etc
  • Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC)
  • An understanding of Agile & Waterfall Project methodologies

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Knowledge of MS CRM or Outsystem’s platform
  • Knowledge of the Atlassian Tool set – Jira & Confluence
  • DBA experience
  • Retail or Hospitality experience
