General Manager

As General Manager you are in the driving seat of your business. You are innovative and a conceptual thinker. Your passion is building and supporting a great team to drive great business success. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • You are a hands-on leader and work with your team closely to drive team morale and happiness. You ensure that they feel valued and everyone believes in teamwork. You support your team in running a great shift.
  • You work with the Senior MGMT team to identify career paths for our people in the business and continue to develop, train and progress our people.
  • You identify the recruitment needs of your business and ensure your par levels are always accurate.
  • You lead our team through the values of EL&N.
  • You ensure that all team members are on-boarded and inducted into the business correctly with the
  • right support and training plan.
  • You plan your rota weekly within budget. You cross train your team members to ensure that your team
  • and rota is as efficient as possible.
  • Ensuring all potential sales growth is recognised. You work closely with your mgmt. team at site and
  • senior management teams to ensure your site has a business plan in place to recognise internal drivers.
  • You are motivated to achieve your KPIs.
  • You are aware of external factors which could affect sales such as local business, trends in the market.
  • You are P&L savvy. You take time to understand the reports and information behind the numbers to ensure your business is hitting budget.
  • You deliver budgeted stock results. Any issues or loss is investigated, and a solution is found to fix the situation.
  • You are accountable for ensuring accurate recording and receiving of stock into your business. You ensure that all transfers (in and out) amongst other sites are recorded correctly.
  • You ensure that your stock counts and reconciliations are honest and not manipulated.
  • You ensure that your site is achieving passing in its quarterly audits with internal independent food bodies and Government bodies. All health and safety standards at site are compliant. You identify gaps and work with your team and the senior management team to improve.
  • You ensure that all your site is providing great guest experiences. This is measured via our review platforms; TripAdvisor and Google. You identify trending issues and support and train your team to rectify any issues and achieve 5 stars
  • You work closely with all departments to ensure that all changes within the business are communicated well. You ensure projects are managed with tact and strategy.
  • You ensure that the aesthetics of all sites are to EL&N standard. Any issues are raised and reported to relevant departments to fix and maintain the flower power.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience in the same or a similar role in the Food & Beverage / Restaurants / Hospitality industries
  • A passion for improving upon existing service
  • Outstanding customer service and leadership capabilities
  • The desire to work to a very high standard and ensure the team does the same
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Computer skills: MS Office, Windows / Mac
  • Tertiary qualification in a related field (certificate / diploma / degree) would be beneficial but not a requirement
  • Willingness to sign confidentiality agreement and protect trade secrets
  • Must be aware and sensitive to different cultural sensibilities - we work with an international team and audience
