General Manager

In the Spring of 2022, a unique social experience will arrive in Cambridge in the form of ‘The Tivoli’, a restored & reimagined former pub!

With odes to its cinematic & brewing past, whilst embracing its riverside location, The Tivoli will combine 2 street food stalls, an array of amazing drinks across 4 bars, two 9-hole indoor golf courses, a shuffle board basement, event/screening room and a roof terrace with wonderful views across Jesus Green. On top of the above, with its planned flexibility of layout, The Tivoli will lend itself to the hosting of a plethora of events, from national celebrations, key sporting occasions, local one-off & regular activities, as well as pop-ups.

We are now incredibly excited to be recruiting for the head honcho, our General Manager! This is a huge role and this experienced individual will take full ownership of the day to day operations of this multi-faceted business, establishing and maintaining a fantastic workplace culture, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere throughout the building as well as developing a team focused on top notch guest service who are absolutely ‘on-it’ day in day out. In addition we will be looking for someone who shares our sustainable agenda and can also keep a keen eye on the numbers ensuring all the hard work pays off!! About our General Manager:

• Excellent communication skills and a real people person
• Innovative, confident and pro-active approach
• Experience running a multi-faceted venue, preferably with some experience of ‘competitive socialising’
• A track record of managing long term strategy to deliver strong financial results
• Proactive in finding new business opportunities, networking and confident with sales & marketing as a whole
• Enjoys leading from the front, motivating and developing their teams
• Able to detail strong management control of a complex business to include P&L performance (cost control, stock management, payroll etc), compliance & team development
• Comfortable working in an autonomous environment where primary business decisions are made at a site level
• Driven, passionate and enthusiastic - take huge pride in what you do and ready for a brand-new challenge

Some or all of the following skills/requirements would be advantageous:

• Awareness of the Cambridge area
• Talent for developing corporate relationships for events and revenue building
• History of managing large scale events from inception to execution
• Passion and experience working with a variety of quality based food & drink offers
• Strong leadership, attention to detail & establishment of standards across all areas of a high volume and demanding venue

• Base pay circa £55,000 with OTE including EBITDA-based performance bonus sitting comfortably at £70,000 per annum
