MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

1. Food Preparation and Management

  • Learn to produce dishes to the required standards ofquality and garnished appropriately.
  • Comply with statutory and company regulations concerningthe hygiene and safety of staff, food, and equipment.
  • Occasionally assist in the preparation and cooking of foodfor special functions and special days.

2. Kitchen Safety and Management

  • Use machinery as instructed and trained, ensuringequipment is used safely and in accordance with legislation.
  • Report any equipment faults to your supervisor onceidentified.
  • Ensure work areas are clean and tidy and all wastedisposed of correctly.
  • Comply at all times with Health and Safety and FoodHygiene standards and regulations.

3. General

  • Greet ‘customers’ helpfully and courteously and provideproduct information to customers on request.
  • Attend training and department meetings as required.
  • As and when requested by the catering managers, carry outadditional tasks concerned with the operation of the unit, including assisting in theservice of food.
  • Operate in accordance with school’s policies andprocedures as detailed on the school’s website and intranet and as set out in the Staff Handbook(Brystaff) and elsewhere, ensuring compliance with the School’s Code of Conduct, the Safeguarding Policy and Child Protection procedures, the school’s Health and Safetypolicy and the Health and Safety at Work Act.

Hours of work – Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3.00pm
