About the Pub

The Black Horse is a traditional rural village pub with food, located halfway between York and Thirsk, just off the A19. Tollerton village provides a customer base for the pub, drawing in trade from the local community. The trading area offers a central bar which serves both the front carpeted lounge and rear public bar. The rear public bar also has its own side entrance and is a cosy room with a real fire, timber floor, exposed beams and brickwork, fixed seating, darts and a television screen. The additional front snug room currently has a pool table but can be used as a dining room providing up to 16 covers. The generous trade kitchen is central to the trading area being just off the main passageway and is well equipped. The outside drinking area has six benches with a mixture of grassed, gravelled and decked areas located between the car park and rear entrance. There is a large parasol, gazebo and smoking shelter.

Regional Manager's Thoughts

The Black Horse has a good local following from the village and attracts customers from the surrounding area. It has retained much of the pub's traditional character, still providing a small public bar as well as a dining room and a games room to the front. I am looking for an enthusiastic and passionate publican with good catering knowledge to continue the success of this pub.
