What you'll be doing:

  • To promote a safety culture and operate in accordance with company and client Health, Safety & Environmental procedures at all times.
  • To ensure the delivery and quality of electrical & mechanical planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks are in accordance with the client service level agreement, company procedures & external accreditation e.g. ISO.
  • Proactively identify and report any potential hazards, rectify where possible and escalate to your line manager where you are unable to undertake immediate action.
  • Sponsor efforts to develop core competencies, processes, disciplines and supporting the sharing of best practices within the site team.
  • Undertake frequent plant room inspections and building walkarounds to proactively identify any faults or damage and report any issues to the site helpdesk.
  • Monitor standards and behaviours of contractors and suppliers, informing your line manager of any contraventions and stopping any unsafe working practices.
  • Attend contract and client site meetings, training courses & networking events as required.
  • Provide out of hours support as part of the call out rota including attending site where required and updating your line manager on the situation.
  • Daily monitoring and adjustments of the site BMS system in the absence of the site manager.
  • Drive continuous improvement to minimise downtime and reduce associated maintenance costs.
  • Attend out of hours emergency call outs to site as part of the engineering on call rota.
  • To comply with any reasonable requests made by your Line Manager.

Who you are:

  • An enthusiastic self-motivated individual with a drive & passion for delivering high quality work.
  • Recognised Mechanical/Electrical apprenticeship.
  • NVQ, City & Guilds L2 or L3 or equivalent in Industrial/Commercial installations.
  • NVQ City & Guilds Level 3 or HNC in an Electrical Discipline.
  • City & Guilds 2395 Electrical Inspection and Testing.
  • IEE 18 th Edition Electrical Regulations Certificate.
  • Complete Level 2 HSE e‐learning ‘Working Safely'.
  • Previous Responsible Person, Authorised Person or Competent Person M&E experience.
  • Sound technical understanding of M&E systems including PPM, Reactive Maintenance and Fault Rectification.
  • A good communicator, able to liaise confidently with colleagues & clients.
