About the Pub
The Vaults, as it’s known locally, is ideally situated just a short walk from the City Centre of Gloucester and the Cherry and Whites Kingsholm Rugby stadium. The Northend Vaults is one of the oldest hostelries in Gloucester, reported as a pub in circa 1660, but parts of the building are much older, originally a merchant’s house. The pub therefore has many period features that add to the appeal of the pub but combines this with a complimentary modern interior. There are multiple screens for those that want to sit and watch live sport and a lovely garden patio area to the rear for those lazy summer days and evenings to enjoy a pint or two. The main trading area has a traditional finish to the floors, a modern feel to the furniture and fittings, and an open plan, airy feel but with more secluded areas for small groups. Everything you would expect from an historic traditional pub but with a more modern feel mixed in. The trade kitchen is located to the rear of the premises but will require some investment in equipment to operate an additional food trade. An enclosed courtyard to the rear has a raised paved area with traditional wooden benches with seating for approximately 50 covers. There is an adequately sized car park to the rear for seven cars but, being in the city centre, there are numerous pay and display car parks close by and the usual transport links.

Regional Manager's Thoughts
This is a well-established business that is well known in the city, and I am now looking for a new publican to work in partnership with to take on the reigns and further develop this business. There are lots of city improvements being undertaken close to the pub and a new publican should be in a good position to capitalise on this. There could be an opportunity, with some investment in kitchen equipment, to develop an ancillary food trade that will compliment this wet led offering. I look forward to discussing the Northend Vaults with interested parties.
Surrounding Area
Gloucester is an historic cathedral city with a population of circa 130,000 and is located on the eastern bank of the River Severn. Sheltered by the Cotswolds to the east, while the Forest of Dean and the Malvern Hills rise to the west and north. The Vaults is in the heart of the city and is situated within a short walk of Gloucester's Kingsholm rugby ground and the Cathedral providing plenty of passing trade to the pub. From the rear of the premises the train and bus stations are only a few minutes’ walk away.
