As an active member of the Senior Leadership Catering Team, the Executive Chef is responsible for successfully managing the delivery of the highest possible standard of food to students, staff, visitors, and any other stakeholders. The post-holder oversees the professional and line management of the Chef team and has responsibility for driving up the standards of the catering offer through innovation and positive change.

This post is includes elements that are craft based, working with the unit Chefs to develop the team and improve the catering provision. There should be a clear vision for the future services offered, in all locations from core feeding, pop ups, coffee shops, franchise partners and hospitality events, and to deliver food presentation and service in an exciting and modern way.

Reporting to the National Executive Chef and taking influence and direction on key projects, offer development, Sales, retention, and mobilisations. You will be part of the team responsible for delivering the highest food standards to meet the various demands of the business.

You will be regionally based with some national travel to specific locations to support central functions.

To support the development and planning of concepts and menus ensuring that the Company's reputation for food quality is enhanced with the clients and customers.

Responsible for overseeing compliance of Health, Safety, Food Hygiene and COSHH regulations.

Drive sales through centrally driven menu plans and promotions and ensure compliance through preferred suppliers. Provide high quality service to customers and client in line with a food service offer that is applicable to sector and client.
More about the role:
  • To align yourself to the Operations Director within your region to identify objectives for their business.
  • Roll out the food concepts, offers and innovative ideas
  • To lead in the overall food operational duties, encouraging and directing any in unit lead chef roles.
  • To support the operations teams and location managers in delivery of quality food standards.
  • To control and achieve agreed financial targets whilst maximising all commercial opportunities.
  • To support any sales tender process and the mobilisation of new business gains.
  • To train, identify and support the development of chefs across the sites in your region
  • To deliver chef demonstrations and training and demonstrate added value
  • To develop and evolve all client services at locations ensuring regular adjustments and improvements are both recommended and implemented.
  • To ensure that customers are given a prompt and efficient service and expectations are consistently exceeded.
  • To ensure all food is cooked, presented, and served in line with company standards
  • To work with location teams and area support chefs
  • To ensure that on request, any appropriate financial information is promptly and accurately received.
  • To consistently look at ways of maximising income through effective purchasing
