About Us:

Cromwell Place is a membership organisation providing a first-of-its-kind exhibition and working space for art professionals. Since opening in October 2020, we are home to an international community of some of the world’s most exciting galleries, collectors, advisors, foundations, institutions, and art businesses. With a focus on connection, our arts hub enables Members from a wide range of specialties and locations to collaborate and flourish. Located in the heart of South Kensington’s Museum district, our 15 galleries and 25 office spaces span five elegantly refurbished Grade II-listed townhouses. An area rich with history, South Kensington was originally known as Prince Albert’s ‘Albertopolis’ and developed into one of Europe’s most vibrant cultural centers.

Position Overview: As a Kitchen Porter, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen, enabling the team to deliver exceptional dining experiences. Your contribution will be instrumental in creating a positive and efficient kitchen environment.

Responsibilities:

Kitchen Support:

• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen by ensuring all equipment, utensils, and work areas are properly cleaned and sanitised.
• Assist in the preparation of ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and organising as required.
• Support the culinary team by keeping the kitchen well-stocked with clean pots, pans, and other essential items.
• Handle dishwashing duties, ensuring all dishes, utensils, and cookware are cleaned thoroughly.
• Empty and maintain rubbish and recycling receptacles in the kitchen area.
• Assist in the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations before and after service.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain a smooth flow of culinary operations.

General Maintenance:

• Ensure the kitchen is organised and tidy, adhering to food safety regulations and best practices.
• Follow health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Report any maintenance or equipment issues to the appropriate team.
• Assist in receiving and storing deliveries in an organised manner.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or similar role is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks.
• Good communication skills to collaborate with the culinary team.

Conditions of Work:

• Permanent contract
• Hours of work: Full-Time (37.5h/week), with a flexible schedule 5 out of 7.
• 28 days of annual leave including bank holidays
