Sous Chef

Sous Chef - London, South Woodford

We are an independent, family owned business serving contemporary fresh Lebanese cuisine with a Mediterranean twist in 2 locations across London: a trendy full-service restaurant in the East; an established café in the Heart of Mayfair. We offer a unique experience, full of original and carefully selected flavours, with the warmth and occasional heat of a shared Mediterranean culture of authentic hospitality.

We have ambitions to expand and develop further these formats with new locations in London over the next few years. To support and strengthen this growth we are now looking for a super star Sous Chef to work with us on a full time basis (day and evening shifts) with the following duties:

Sous Chef Duties Include:

  • Create and assemble beautifully presented dishes in an efficient and precise manner. 
  • Prepare ingredients, salads, meats and desserts ready for service. 
  • Monitor stock of fresh produce, herbs, spices, meats and condiments for quality and quantity. 
  • Check deliveries for quality and quantity and store safely according to Food Safety best practices. 
     

In addition, the Sous Chef will:

  • Learn about our products/production methods and consistently produce foodstuffs to required standard (texture, taste and aspect). 
  • Engage with colleagues and customers to promote a culture of quality and food knowledge. 
  • Maintain a very high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen and service areas, equipment, utensils and work surfaces, and an impeccable personal presentation always. 
  • Follow religiously all health and safety and food safety procedures on duty.
  • Open and close the kitchen/section correctly and efficiently daily.
  • Complete and check all Health & Food Safety Due Diligence records accurately.


The Candidate for the Sous Chef role: 

  • At least 1 year experience in a kitchen/food prep environment 
  • Passion for fresh food and healthy eating 
  • Ability to cut meats beneficial but not essential 
  • Previous knowledge of Mediterranean/middle eastern cuisine not required but helpful 
  • Able to work effectively and safely under pressure in compact environments 
  • Experience working in a diverse team and willingness to succeed.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proactive (takes control and resolve issues before they happen)
