The Company

Kanada Ya is considered one of the best ramen shops in London, launching our first London site on St Giles High Street in 2014. The second branch opened near Piccadilly Circus on Panton Street, in 2015. In 2018 we opened a third site in Islington on Upper St and in 2020 we opened our first delivery-only kitchen in Battersea. We now have restaurants in Hong Kong, Singapore, Spain and Japan.

Role and Responsibilities

The Chef will typically be able to undertake the duties of the Kitchen Porter and, in addition, be responsible for:

  • Cooking food to order following the restaurant specifications and following the Recipe/Spec book

  • Communicating effectively with BOH and FOH teams to create a positive atmosphere for colleagues and customers

  • Keeping the kitchen and other areas at a high level of cleanliness, including thorough cleaning throughout the day

    and at the end of every shift - including weekly deep cleaning tasks

  • Ensuring all food safety and health & safety procedures are strictly adhered

  • Informing the HC/BOH Team Leaders of any stock needing to be ordered and FIFO process is followed

  • Cooking team meals to budget

  • Helping to keep storerooms organised and assisting with deliveries

  • Other reasonable duties as requested by the senior management team

  • Understand the ordering system to step in for the HC/BOH Team Leader if necessary

    Experience/ Skills required

  • Ability to stand, walk and carry out physical duties for the period of your shift

  • Ability to adhere to restaurant menu specifications
