Chef de Partie

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team at Locket’s, a new café and wine bar in St James opening in November 2019.

Locket’s will be a 60 cover all-day café and wine bar, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner to the local community to eat in, take away and in the summer months will have the opportunity of outside dining. Locket’s will provide a casual alternative to the local restaurants and a more comfortable option than the local fast food chains for breakfast and lunch in the area. In the evening, Locket’s will have an extensive wine list by the glass, perfect for people wishing to catch up with friends after work while offering an extensive selection of tapas inspired dishes.

Ideal Candidate:

  • At least 1 years’ experience as a Chef de Partie or Demi Commis Chef in a similar establishment
  • Has experience of working in a kitchen environment that does not use an open flame but has ovens and induction
  • Experience of catering for up to 60 covers in one service
  • Enthusiastic & eager to learn new cooking techniques
  • Strong imagination & creativity
  • A strong passion for international food and hospitality
  • Has the ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude to all
  • Will takes care of daily food preparation and duties assigned by the superiors to meet the standard and the quality set by the Restaurant
  • Will ensure that the production and preparation of food is always of the highest quality
  • Will ensure the cleanliness and organisation of designed sections
  • Has had the experience of maintaining a high standard hygiene and health and safety at work

Benefits:

  • £25,000 per annum or £10.93 per hour including tronc following probation period
  • 5 straight shifts or approximately 45 hours a week Monday to Friday with Saturday and Sunday off
  • The restaurant is closed on Sundays, Bank holidays, Christmas and Easter
