Head Housekeeper

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head Housekeeper to join our highly successful team here at The Soho Hotel. Your main responsibility will be ensuring that our uniquely styled hotel is cleaned and maintained to a perfect standard. As a Head Housekeeper, you will need to have the ability to work under pressure to a high standard. Leading the housekeeping team, you will be expected to demonstrate excellent attention to detail, organisational and communication skills.

Essential Key Skills

  • Previous experience as a Head Housekeeper or Deputy Head Housekeeper in a 5* luxury hotel
  • Be a hands on manager
  • Superb attention to details and understanding of a luxury brand
  • Excellent customer service skills for guest interaction
  • Exceptional organisation skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team to ensure a productive environment
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills which are capable of nurturing, developing and inspiring staff
  • The ability to work well under pressure and in a busy environment
  • Approachable, friendly and understanding of the daily needs of a busy housekeeping team
  • Ability to multitask


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department
  • Lead and motivate the team
  • Attend the management meetings
  • Conduct daily briefings to the housekeeping team
  • Check completed bedrooms with an eye for detail, to ensure they are cleaned to the required standards
  • Identify and report design issues and maintenance faults to the correct department
  • Liaise with the Reception department as to which rooms have being completed
  • Staff training
  • Create incentives to inspire and motivate the team
  • Create the daily checklists for the Room Attendants and Linen Porters
  • Forecasting for the department
  • Conduct regular stock control and process orders
