Pub Overview
Chocolate Box Village Pub - Fantastic Multiple Income Stream Business
The White Mare is a lovely country pub with eight letting rooms in the hamlet of Beckermet, Cumbria. Beckermet sits just off the A595, near the west coastline, 9 miles south of Whitehaven, 2 miles north of Sellafield Nuclear Plant and on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Refurbished by Star Pubs and Bars in 2015 to a high standard, the traditional coaching inn offers locals, tourists and business travellers a relaxing, warm and friendly atmosphere to enjoy a sociable drink, tasty meal or peaceful night's sleep.
Currently the White Mare offers high quality fine dining and homemade wholesome menus alongside a well-stocked bar of premium beers, spirits and wines. The current offer works well, garnering the operator numerous awards, but there is opportunity to increase trade from locals by developing the community appeal, including a more varied events calendar beyond the current live sports offer.
BDM Vision:
The White Mare is a chocolate box village pub with multiple income streams in a fantastic location and perfectly positioned to make the most of the Coast to Coast walk and Lake District National Park. This is a great opportunity to take on a lifestyle pub in a pretty hamlet location.
Experienced Food Operator Wanted
The White Mare is ideal for an owner/operator, preferably with chef skills who can maintain the high quality food standards, whilst bringing your own personality to the menu. You should be able to maintain the destination appeal of the pub whilst increasing the local appeal.
Features
Trading Area & Facilities
In 2015 the White Mare underwent a major refurbishment by Star Pubs and Bars to allow the pub to reach its full potential.
Internally, the White Mare has a contemporary country pub decor with mixed seating, exposed ceiling beams and feature open fires at each end of the pub. The layout is open plan with a bar/reception area to one side for drinking and casual dining and a restaurant area to the other side. The fully equipped kitchen caters for 60 covers.
The pub has eight stylish en-suite letting rooms, uniquely and finely furnished.
Externally, the pub has an appealing, well maintained white painted facade with stylish grey accents and signage. There is a patio area to the front, which is partially under cover with tables and chairs and a large grassy beer garden with picnic benches to the side to make the most of the summer months. The pub has a car park to the front.
Private Accommodation
The private accommodation is of an excellent standard and consists of three bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and bathroom. Where required appropriate works will be carried out in line with the Star Pubs & Bars Ready to Trade promise.
