The Team

The In-House Services and Estates team aims to deliver a comfortable, safe, and efficient environment for MPs, their staff, and staff of the House to work in; as well as providing a welcoming and functional environment for all visitors to the House of Commons.

Catering Services sit within the In-House Services and Estates team and are responsible for the efficient operation of the House of Commons catering facilities within an agreed financial framework. Catering Services at the House of Commons promotes a culture that adheres to the highest ethical standards across all areas of our business. The Role

Our corporate events team is looking for an Event Coordinator, previous experience organising personal and business-to-business events. You will handle events from start to finish, working with in-house stakeholders and external contractors. You will be responsible for every part of event preparation, such as understanding and translating customer requirements, approving menus, developing seating plans, and evaluating success afterward.

As the Event Coordinator, you should be well-organised and possess a sound knowledge of event management. Excellent communication and attention to detail skills are vital in this role, as our success depends on meeting our customers' tailored requirements

The Person

The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:

• Experience of organising high-quality events, delivering timely performance with energy, and taking responsibility and accountability for quality outcomes.
• Experience of organising and delivering service objectives and striving to improve the quality of service, taking account of diverse guest needs and requirements.
• Ability to create and maintain positive, professional, and trusting working relationships with a wide range of people within and outside the team to help get business done, upholding the principals of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
