Bar - General Manager

A small intimate music (vinyl) based cocktail bar. No food offering currently. Voted best bar in Kent 2019. We are a relaxed but hard working small bar with an amazing view. Vinyl music is a part of our culture. We regularly have local DJs come in and play on Friday, Saturdays. We are open only in the evening generally. V small team.

Job description

- self starter / fun / relaxed / hard working
- lover of music (vinyl a bonus!)
- ideally some experience as a senior bar manager in a cocktail / bar although training will be given
- shifts behind bar when necessary (tbd but 3 shifts inc some holiday cover / sick cover where necessary)
- to be DPS
- hiring + management + training of staff
- recruitment of casual staff
- paying staff using online banking
- responsibility of H&S onsite
- banking of cash, keeping/checking float tallies - notifying directors if any discrepancy
- stock control
- purchasing of extra stock when needed
- management of suppliers to ensure stock levels
- maximising GP
- management of RESY (booking system) /izettle (till system)
- photos of receipts on receiptbank when bits purchased
- menu adjustment when necessary
- signage updating when necessary
- coming up with new ideas / cocktails
- social posts x 3-5 per week (insta mainly) pushing our offering
- answering DMs and emails
- using pubwatch / police where necessary
- implement online digital timesheets and shift rotas to ensure management of holidays, rotas and levels
- ensuring the place is clean, tidy and hygienic
- profit and loss
- maintenance (contracting in)
- forward planning (in line with directors expectations)
- quarterly meetings with Directors or more frequent as necessary (P&L)
- bimonthly meetings with staff
- coming up and implementing new ideas
- booking DJs when necessary
- ensure access for cleaners/windows/fire alarm testing
- driving the business forward
