Maintenance Worker

What you'll be doing:
We're currently recruiting a dedicated Maintenance Worker to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in Defence on a full time basis, contracted to 37 hours per week.

More about the role:
  • To carry out the various daily, weekly & periodic unskilled general labouring duties required under the contract service level agreement and as directed by your ESS and/or MOD line manager. E.g. moving and putting together ESS/MOD assets throughout an establishment, general interior and exterior cleaning tasks, supporting the output of the MOD stores and erecting marquees
  • To ensure you are always aware of & comply with all client & company health & safety procedures and standards e.g. COSHH, uniform, PPE, manual handling and fire procedures
  • To ensure that any health & safety hazards, issues, near misses & accidents are reported to your manager at the earliest opportunity
  • To maintain a clean, safe & hygienic working environment at all times
  • To achieve the relevant general labouring quality & productivity targets
  • General labouring duties are physical activities which will include manual handling tasks and may involve using cleaning and maintenance equipment in line with health & safety training
  • To actively participate in any team meetings & training as required by sharing your knowledge & experience with other team members
  • To follow the company procedures whilst seeking opportunities to do things better, raising suggestions with your line manager to ensure we continuously improve our operation and seek to improve our service procedures
  • To ensure all equipment provided is used, cleaned, maintained and stored correctly in line with the operating instructions and company procedures. Any defects are to be reported to your line manager
  • To comply with any reasonable requests made by your line manager which may include working in areas other than those to which you are accustomed
  • To learn and always demonstrate the ESS Way behaviours to colleagues, customers & clients
