Pub/Restaurant Manager/Couple

The Bell in Studham, welcomes you to the multi award winning gem, nestled amongst Bedfordshire’s finest countryside. This 500 year old pub with panoramic views offers the best of English & Italian to eat in or take away with selections of home décor, gifts, chutneys, sweets & treats.

The candidate or couple will have experience with in-house procedures and will be required to deal with all aspects associated with running an award winning pub and restaurant while making sure the pub operates in the way Phil & Nikki (the directors) have envisaged and built to success over the last 15 years.

If a couple, one should ideally have experience or a passion for freshly prepared dishes and be keen to assist the chef and shine and show case their own qualities.

You should have an eye for detail, be extremely organised and obtain a hands on /lead from the front management style as well as have a knack to operate in a seemingly informal style that the pub conveys to the customers.  As Manager you will have full responsibility of the day to day running of the pub and restaurant, staffing, profit, operational service and sales development.

Key responsibilities:

Excellent housekeeping skills and enjoy showcasing a clean and tidy business.

Holding a liquor license, keeping up to date with licensing legislation and taking legal responsibility for the premises.

Ensuring beer and wine are kept in good condition.

Willing to learn all aspects of what makes the business successful as it is, enforcing health & safety rules and new legislation that comes about and dietary requirements/options.

The day to day running with the business.

Doing rotas, stocks and management of the team.

Recruit and oversee an enthusiastic and hardworking team delivering a quality service to a high standard, knowing the difference between serving and service.

Developing and training the team to a high standard to maximise both wet and dry service and bottom-line profits.

Working to labour budgets.

Excellent communicator who enjoys dealing with people with a nothing is too much trouble attitude and wants to make every visit special for our customers whether it be a few drinks at the bar, a meal for four or a celebratory function that you have organised inside or out in our garden.

And of course friendly warm and welcoming with a ‘sunny’ disposition even on busy days and bags of enthusiasm!

Ideally must have own transport as located in a village in some of Bedfordshire's finest Countryside near to Whipsnade Zoo and The Dunstable Downs.
