Management Accounting Supervisor

£40,000 - £45,000 plus benefits

As the UK's biggest Pub Company, Stonegate Group have an exciting opportunity in their Group Management Accounting team for a Managed Accounting Supervisor. This role will be based in the office in Solihull on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and will be home based Monday and Friday.

The role of the Management Accounting Supervisor will have responsibility for ensuring that the underlying financial records accurately reflect the results of Joint Venture subsidiaries within the managed businesses down to outlet EBITDA level. They must work closely with both the FP&A team and with Ops to meet business objectives.

This role forms part of a team responsible for management accounting and/or reporting focusing on:

Management accounting – to ensure the underlying financial records accurately reflect the results of the Group and its subsidiaries.

Financial reporting – to ensure the accurate and timely production of period end reporting and the production of the management accounts/statutory accounts.

Systems/Process development - to review the procedures used within the team, continually challenging to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Skills Required:

  • Fully qualified ACCA or CIMA
  • Previous Team Leader / Supervisor experience in a similar role essential
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines and prioritise work
  • Excellent Excel skills (advanced knowledge preferable)
  • Confident at a senior level, with an excellent ability to lead teams
  • Ability to influence at a senior level to get buy in for ideas and changes
  • Technically motivated, detailed, thorough and accurate with a high level of attention to detail
  • A positive approach and drive to deliver excellent customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal communications to all stakeholder levels
  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a team

Key Responsibilities:

  • To be our key management accounting contact for our joint venture subsidiaries and to maintain high levels of service to their management team.
  • To produce with commentary a timely and accurate periodic management accounting pack to key stakeholders and assist with any variance analysis. This includes attending accounts reviews with FP&A and operations to present the period results.
  • Ensure all periodic Balance Sheet reconciliations are produced to a high standard and are ready for review, ensuring unusual transactions are raised and dealt with in a timely manner.
  • To ensure that all accounting journals are calculated accurately and correctly in line with Group policies and accounting standards - including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and group consolidation journals.
  • Team Management – to manage their team, developing and motivating them, and ensuring we are constantly striving for ways to better support the business.
  • To ensure that queries from Operations are responded to accurately and concisely within agreed SLAs.
  • To aid Operations in any training requirements which may include induction sessions or presentations.
  • Ad hoc work to support the wider Group Finance team as required.
