Team Member - YHA Boswinger

YHA Boswinger are looking to recruit a local person to work as a Hospitality Team Member on a variable hours basis. We particularly need help on weekday mornings to help us prepare breakfast in May, June and July.

YHA Boswinger is a 40-bed hostel located on the South Coast of Cornwall, a stone's throw from the South West Coast Path and beautiful Hemmick Beach. We are approximately 12 miles from St Austell, with our nearest major tourist attractions being the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. The hostel offers catered group stays and Exclusive Hire.

• We pay £10.42 per hour to all ages (variable 0 hours, fixed term contract, May - October.)
• Shift patterns on offer include: 07:30 - 13:00, 07:30 - 15:00, 09:00 - 13:00, 10:00 - 16:00, 17:00 - 21:00. Monday - Friday pattern. Option to take time off in school holidays.

What will you be doing as a Team Member?

• welcoming guests and answering their questions in a friendly, helpful manner
• carrying out cleaning and housekeeping duties
• preparing and serving food in the kitchen for groups 

What Skills and Experience do you need to be a Team Member?

We value lived experience just as much as previous skills and knowledge. We offer a robust induction, ongoing training, and further development, however, some of our roles will have further skills requirements.

Ideally you will have some experience of working within a professional catering environment. 

Duties vary so good communication skills and basic IT skills are advantageous.

Excellent time keeping is essential.

Experience of working at pace, with attention to detail, carrying out physical tasks.
