Team Member - YHA Beer

YHA Beer are looking to recruit a Team Member for 10 - 25 hours per week.

YHA Beer are looking to recruit a Seasonal Team Member for 10 - 25hrs per week (potential to increase during busy periods) throughout the months of March - November (this can be flexible if necessary)

Nestled on the hillside on the edge of the village of Beer, this beautiful Arts & Crafts building is home to YHA Beer.  Hosting a wide range of guests from school groups, to families, to people walking the coast path.  The hostel boasts 8 private rooms, bell tents, and pitch up camping and offers breakfasts and occasional group evening meals .   

We mainly have evening reception shifts available (4.30pm - 9pm).  However the roles available can range from simply evening, breakfast or housekeeping shifts to splits shifts - talk to us about what you are available for and we can discuss what might work for us both.  We're looking for someone with a warm and friendly nature, attention to detail, offering great customer service and with a positive attitude.  This can be a very busy but rewarding role, and housekeeping in particular can be quite physically demanding so good level of fitness is recommended.

What could you be doing as a Team Member?

  • working on reception, providing information about the hostel and local area
  • carrying out cleaning and housekeeping duties
  • preparing food in the kitchen
  • serving food and drinks front of house

What Skills and Experience do you need to be a Team Member?

We value lived experience just as much as previous skills and knowledge. We offer a robust induction, ongoing training, and further development, however, some of our roles will have further skills requirements. It’s an advantage but not essential that our team members have experience volunteering or working with other people.

Duties vary so good communication skills and basic IT skills are advantageous. Excellent time keeping is essential.
