Front Office Receptionist (Full-Time)

At InterContinental Edinburgh The George Hotel, we have an exciting opening to join our team as a Front Office Receptionist…

We are looking for someone who can commit to Full-Time, across a minimum of 5 shifts per week. Your shifts will between 7:00am-3:30pm or 2:30pm-11:00pm. Being flexible would be a great plus!

We are open 7 days a week 365 days a year and need people to work a range of shifts and days - this means we can offer great flexibility if required. At InterContinental, we pride ourselves in maintaining service of the highest standards, intertwined with local culture wisdom and international know-how.

We are paying £10.50 per hour, all overtime is paid for. From April 2023, we are paying an increased rate of £11.60 per hour - equating to £24,128.00 per annum based on a 40 hour week!

As a {insert job title} your main duties and responsibilities will be checking in and out our guests, dealing with any queries or complaints, welcoming our guests to the city and interacting with them to encourage them to join our loyalty program. You will also be a key part of our guests’ overall stay, providing special experiences and recognising our loyal IHG One Rewards members. We aim to make international travel more alluring by offering a ‘Slice of the InterContinental Life’, providing a sophisticated and cosmopolitan stay for our guests. To be part of our charismatic team…the key skills & experience you’ll ideally already have are:

  • Experience working as a Receptionist, Concierge or Guest Services Agent at a 4/5* Hotel is beneficial
  • Passion for providing excellent customer service, wanting to go above and beyond for our guests!
  • Confident working on Hotel systems, experience working with Opera specifically is a big plus
  • Willing to learn new things and work as part of our wider Hotel team!
