Seasonal Hospitality Team Member - YHA Boswinger

YHA Boswinger are looking to recruit a Team Member for 15+ hours per week.

YHA Boswinger is a 40-bed hostel located on the South Coast of Cornwall, a stone's throw from the South West Coast Path and the delightful Hemmick Beach. The area is beloved by walkers and water-lovers, offering endless opportunities to explore the beautiful Roseland Peninsula - one of Cornwall's most undisturbed treasures. Our nearest major tourist attractions are the Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project. We are popular for Exclusive Hire and school group stays with our busiest months being May, June and July.

• We pay £10.42 per hour, variable hours (15-35 per week), fixed term May - September, Shift patterns include 06:30 - 13:00, 06:30 - 15:30, 10:00 - 16:00

What will you be doing as a Team Member?

• carrying out cleaning and housekeeping duties
• working in the kitchen - preparing and serving breakfast and evening meals for groups 
• providing a warm welcome and great customer service
• on occasion you will be required to work at other YHA hostels in the region, which is a great opportunity to explore the South West and learn from colleagues.

What Skills and Experience do you need to be a Team Member?

We value lived experience just as much as previous skills and knowledge. We offer a robust induction, ongoing training, and further development, however, some of our roles will have further skills requirements. It’s an advantage but not essential that our team members have experience volunteering or working with other people.

Duties vary so good communication skills and basic IT skills are advantageous. Excellent time keeping is essential. Some catering experience would be helpful but is not essential.
