We are looking for a talented and charismatic Maître d’ to join the team of our fantastic restaurant; Daphne’s, part of Caprice Holdings.
Daphne’s, the famous Italian neighbourhood restaurant, bar and conservatory in South Kensington, appeal lies not only in its seasonal cooking, but also its natural warmth and effortless Italian charm, making it a favourite amongst the residents of Chelsea and visitors from further afield. In summer, the bright conservatory creates an alfresco feel with its retractable roof; in winter, a blazing fire in the open range turns it into an intimate retreat.
As Maître d’ you will be working within the Maître d’ team, ensuring that the highest levels of service are provided to all of our guests. You will be responsible for greeting and seating our guests and taking reservations over the telephone. You will be highly effective at building relationships with guests and understanding their preferences to then effectively communicate to the front of house team pre and during service. You must be a confident and engaging communicator who can build relationships with guests and ensure they only have a positive experience at Daphne’s.
We are looking for candidates who have:
Previous experience in a Maître d’ role within a busy, high profile, high quality restaurant.
A genuine passion for creating an excellent guest experience.
Impeccable appearance, an engaging personality and the ability to remain calm at all times.
The ability to multi task and effectively react to changing guest needs.
Be a natural and confident communicator both face to face and on the telephone.
Be organised and motivated to see tasks through to completion.
Possess an excellent command of the English language.
Be an excellent team player with good administration skills.
Previous experience of OpenTable would be an advantage or similar reservation system.
A keen interest in the theatre, arts, current affairs and politics is desirable.
