Senior People Operations Manager Constellation @ Tottenham Hotspur

A role new role has become available for a senior people operations manager to join the team at Tottenham Hotspur, leading Matchday people operations and overseeing the constellation team of 4 on site. You will be the lynchpin between the Head of people and the constellation team at the stadium. This is a truly unique role, one that is integral to the stadium delivering its people goals fort the future.

The role is accountable for the operational delivery & planning of the People Operations function at Tottenham Hotspur to ensure that the right quantity and right quality of staff are booked for work, driving high levels of consistency where appropriate and ensuring excellent operational delivery.

There will also be a responsibility for reporting and monitoring the variable payroll to ensure financial targets are met whilst meeting operational need. Staff welfare and adherence to employment law is essential to this role, as is supporting the strategies of the Central HR Team & Constellation regarding recruitment, retention, employee relations and any other relevant aspect of employee welfare.

This role will also engage with the wider stakeholders in the business to ensure that there is a collaborative approach to enable staffing requirements. All departments are relevant to this role and there needs to be an insight into all areas of delivery including Retail, Premium, Beverage, Logistics, Culinary and Support Functions

Key focus areas

• Leads and manages recruitment of over 2000 variable team members required for event days, working to ensure campaigns are kept fresh and we are the employer of choice

• Working collaboratively with HODs to determine all pre/post event & event day staffing requirements, never compromising on quality. Ensuring all types of events are considered - football, NFL, Concerts, Rugby or any other Events.

• Work with the HODs and Finance team to oversee and control labour in line with budget & forecast

• Work with the departmental People Operation teams within constellation to consistently drive down our agency usage.

• Support the operational delivery of staffing on both event days and on some non-event days so that the operation runs as smoothly as possible. This can be done by ensuring that there are set protocols in place with regards to check in, check out, allocation, overbook, staff journey, shortages, uniform, and any other aspect of the staffing function.

• Train, develop, mentor and coach the People Operations team to ensure that knowledge is imparted and standards are maintained.

• Partner with the Tottenham Hotspur client, namely Security & Cleaning to ensure we are meeting our obligations around our operation

• Support the Head of People Operations with any issues regarding employee welfare and employee relations

• Oversee and manage any incentives and drive our Reward & Recognition programme

• Work along side the Head of People Operations with any wider projects

• Be conversant with and adhere to all relevant areas of legal and company obligations in the following areas: Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, Fire Regulations, Employment Law & Payroll

system

• Act as the gate keeper for policies & procedures within the People Operations department are adhered to and monitored

• Champion of staff welfare

• You should take an active part in helping to create a workplace that cultivates retention and consistency

• Challenge and continually review variable labour specifications within all areas to assess cost effectiveness

• Manages and processes payroll for all variable staff, ensure paid right first time

• Be a brand ambassador for Constellation, Levy UK & Tottenham Hotspur

Person Spec

• You are full of energy and have a great passion for people and great service

• A leader in all you do helping to set the standards, motivate and manage your team.

• At least 2 years similar experience gained in a similar role

• Proven track record of working within given budgets and reporting labour and financial figures

• Experience with a casual workforce is essential

• Effectively juggles multiple priorities and timescales to ensure consistent service delivery

• Understand events delivery essential

• Can manage across stakeholder groups and delivers on promises

• Excellent administrative and organisational skills - attention to detail is imperative.

• Strong people management skills

• Diplomacy, discretion, and impartiality of judgment are key traits.

• Challenge in constructive way, the way thigs are done.
