Apprentice Production Chef

PLEASE NOTE WAGE ADVERTISED IS FOR 16 - 17 YEAR OLDS. NATIONAL MINIMUM WAGE FOR AGE IS PAID

The Poppy & Pint are looking for 2 apprentice chefs to join the team in their busy kitchen in Lady Bay, Nottingham working from 30 – 45 hours per week. This will be on a weekly rota basis, with a combination of weekday, evening and weekend shifts.

All of our food is freshly prepared on site with a combination of cook to order and batch cooked options. Our kitchen teams develop all of our menus so there’s a real opportunity to add your own ideas, flair and creativity into the culinary offering.

Full training is provided on site and through the apprentice program, all of our teams benefit from discounts throughout all of our sites and you get to spend your time with a like-minded bunch of people, all sharing your passion for food.

Daily duties will include:

  • Preparing, Cooking & Presenting dishes under the supervision of a Senior Chef
  • How to keep a professional kitchen clean
  • Understanding different dietary requirements
  • Understanding portion control
  • How to uses Specialist Kitchen equipment safely & correctly
  • Understanding health & safety legislation and hygiene regulations
