SALARY: £12.00 per hour

LOCATION: Wirral Schools, The Wirral, Merseyside, CH62

REPORTING TO: Regional Manager

HOURS/WORKING PATTERN: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

DURATION: Minimum 18months

Well now is the time, aswe have a very exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Hospitality Manager / Relief Chefto join our team in I a number of schools on the Wirral, Merseyside.

You will need some experience as this is a level 4 placement. Training will be provided as part of the apprenticeship. Apprenticeships are for everyone regardless of age!

Over a 36-month period you will be trained to become a fully Qualified Hospitality Manager / Relief Chef.

An apprenticeship is a funded programme where an individual learns new skills, knowledge and behaviours in a chosen sector. An apprenticeship will enable you to work and earn a wage whilst developing and gaining new skills as an employee.

Alongside your day-to-day duties, you will complete the Hospitality Manager Level 4 Apprenticeship. This is a nationally recognised qualification, and the primary objective of the Hospitality Manager is to supervise and lead a team of front and back of house staff in their daily duties. You will either be attending college 1 day per week or you will learn ‘in-unit'.You will be supported through this qualification by your Personal Development Coach who will visit you at your place work every 6-10 weeks. All travel expenses will be covered by your employer. You are not expected to complete any of your Apprenticeship work outside of your normal working hours and will be given set time each week to complete your work.

What you'll be doing:
As an apprentice Hospitality Manager/Relief Chef, you will be based in a busy hospitality environments in schools on the Wirral. You will be responsible for supervising and leading a team of kitchen and/or restaurant staff in the production, preparing and serving of the kind of food that truly brightens our clients' and customers' days, all within the market-leading food service company in the UK.

Tasks could include, but not limited to:
  • Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights our clients and customers
  • Covering sickness and absence of catering manager.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve our food services
  • Listening and acting on customer feedback to consistently improve our food and hospitality services
  • Monitoring inventories to keep our kitchens well-stocked
  • Overseeing kitchen cleaning responsibilities to maintain hygiene standards
  • To ensure an efficient and high standard of service to all clients and customers in all areas.
  • Able to work under pressure and have the ability to delegate responsibilities and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Take pride in how you look and adhere to all grooming standards.
  • Have previous operational hospitality experience.
  • Advanced product knowledge to deliver a knowledgeable service to the guests.
  • To ensure all hospitality teams within your area are briefed, opening/closing/cleaning procedures are adhered to.
  • To ensure all stocks are taken and recorded at the required times and ensure everything is processed through our till systems.
  • To produce and deliver food and beverage services in area of responsibility and brief staff with timings.
  • Help training to be delivered to all staff within your area of responsibility.
  • Must be enthusiastic, polite, friendly and able to converse with guests at all levels, being able to build a lasting rapport with guests and staff alike.
  • Able to lead a team at an efficient and high level of service to deliver an excellent guest experience.
  • Enjoy working as part of a team as well as using individual initiative when required.
  • Support regional manager in day to day operation of primary and secondary schools
  • To ensure that all legislative and Government guidelines are adhered to, including The Food Safety Act, Health and Safety at Work Act, the COSHH regulations, etc. within the areas of responsibility.

There is supervision responsibility of other staff in this role.
