More about the role:
This role shapes the strategic supply chain requirements of the sector, working with stakeholders to ensure delivery. Interfacing with both the sector executive team and the wider functions within Foodbuy, the role holder acts as the lead for their sectors strategic supply chain requirements, holding Foodbuy teams to account on delivery and development required to meet these needs.

This role will be responsible for helping set and owning delivery of clear commercial KPI's agreed between Foodbuy & Sector executive team, alongside delivery of critical projects, initially, key projects will include delivery of Range reset and Ipsum.

You will direct the commercial activity within Chartwells across several key focus areas and underpinned by consistent ways of working:

1. Compliance and Optimisation

a. Understand the Sector business structure to identify strategies for commercial improvement (i.e. cost structure, pence per meal)

b. Deliver commercial improvement within Sector through ensuring an agreed vendor and product range (across Food, Beverage and Non Food)

c. Drive, measure and maximise compliance to achieve agreed KPI's

d. Manage the data and insight requirements required to support supply chain and COGs improvement

2. Inflation and Cost Control

a. In conjunction with Sector Finance Director, understand and manage the impact of budgeted vs forecasted and actual inflation

b. Work with Foodbuy & Sector teams to identify and implement opportunities to manage COGs and mitigate inflation

c. Ensure collateral and toolkit is in place to support client conversations

3. Joint Business Plan (JBP)

a. As a member of the Sector Executive/Senior Leadership Team define and agree a joint commercial strategy, as agreed with Sector MD

b. Drive the delivery of both strategic and tactical commercial projects, track progress and drive execution of the JBP to set timescales

c. Drive Sector requirements for Retail, Food and SES Innovation, working with wider Foodbuy teams to deliver supplier innovation as part of the joint commercial strategy

  • Leads teams and projects with broad reach and across multiple complex workstreams
  • Previous experience identifying internal and external issues with ability to shape, implement and deliver a strategy to solve these business issues
  • Proven track record of delivering projects and change across complex organisations
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data to help inform decisions and to influence stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in a pressurised, fast paced and deadline driven environment
  • Ability to effectively plan and manage multiple workstreams to a project timeline
